Alessia is an experienced professional focused on issues of equity and belonging within education institutions, not-for profit, and the public sector. She has a keen interest in individual and collective experiences of belonging and exclusion, especially in relation to intersectional identities, asylum, immigration, and race and ethnicity. 

Alessia has six years’ experience supporting people whose life was affected by hate crimes and has designed and delivered training to raise awareness of the impact of bias, prejudice and discrimination. Alessia also works in higher education as an Equality Officer, has consulted on and created anti-harassment and dignity at work policies and has designed and delivered training on diversity and inclusion, equality legislation, bystander behaviour and cultural change. She is also involved with a Bristol-based charity supporting asylum seekers and refugees to enhance individuals’ feeling of social belonging and well-being.
