For the Diversity Trust, Amy Phipps is a consultant in:
· Autism and Neurodiversity Awareness in the Workplace
Amy is a neurodiversity trainer with a specialism in autism (her son is autistic and she has a Post-Graduate Certificate in Autism). She delivers to a range of audiences such as health and social care, education and families/carers.
Currently, she delivers training on behalf of the National Autistic Society and offers support to the parents/carers of autistic children through Bristol Autism Support. The latter encompasses the Southwest Hub for Autism Central, providing courses and groups for parents/carers and 1:1s for families to provide advice and guidance about particular areas of challenge. She also creates written materials for the Autism Central website and sits on their parent-carer panel, helping to review their content.
With a Masters in Social Work, her practice is informed by her background as a registered social worker with experience across both voluntary and statutory settings. She writes articles on an ad hoc basis for Community Care Inform (an online social worker magazine).
In addition to working for the Diversity Trust as a consultant, Amy also has her own company titled “Autism Families“.
