We’ve collated feedback from the Trans Awareness training session delivered by Joni Clark and Gaia Reed to Community Trade Union in February 2025.

The session was great as I have never really experienced what transgender people go through, we all think we know but the two tutors were very open to discussion and very honest in their delivery, it certainly opened my eyes to the journey they have to endure. I would promote that more people should attend such a course as you certainly learn. Thanks to you and the two tutors. – Jason
The training has to be one of the better training sessions I’ve attended in a while. It was informative, interactive what made it more enjoyable how enthusiastic and how they answered all our questions honestly and with integrity. The presentation was great and a lived experience counts for so much more when delivering training. – Jac
Course was very insightful and informative. Both Joni and Gaia provided a safe space for open discussion and active participation training. Only downside was due to the openness in participation, the later parts of the course seemed a bit rushed due to time constraints. As Trade Unionists understanding legislations is pivotal for us, would recommend in the future a full day’s training rather than ½ day just so all aspects of the course can have equal open discussion time. – Angela
I found this training to be informative and very relevant to current areas of diversity. The presenters were very open about their own experiences and ready to answer all questions which were put to them. – Joy
It was a great opportunity to learn from Joni and Gaia. They were excellent communicators and gave us full confidence to ask any questions we had. Their knowledge and experience gave us a real insight into transgender issues and I would highly recommend using The Diversity Trust for any further training. – Jane
Cheers for Tuesday it was a session I enjoyed being part of must be honest when I accepted the invite I was unsure of anything around the LGBT community but the 2 trainers were well presented and open about themselves. It was well worth the session and would welcome any more sessions. – Chris
