For the Diversity Trust, Michael is a volunteer researcher with equalities expertise, undertaking a variety of roles such as supporting fundraising applications.
In addition to being a Lecturer in Chemistry at Swansea University, Michael is also the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Lead for the Pharmacy Department, as well as being a freelance EDI Consultant.
He leverages his Post-Graduate certificate in EDI in the Workplace (UMSL). Previously, as a student in the US, he was proactive in offering a variety of equalities-related training sessions on topics such as unconscious bias. On becoming a paid member of staff, he continued to offer this on a pro bono basis.
Michael’s expertise is based in the higher education sector, both in the UK and the US. He’s been awarded a grant to explore inclusivity in the undergraduate Chemistry Laboratory which is currently a live project.
