Crossing The Line 1: Understanding sexual violence and harassment in the workplace 

Creating an environment of care and respect 

Overview 

This course aims to increase understanding for all roles within an organisation on what sexual violence and harassment is, how it can be perpetrated in the workplace, its impact and how to create safe and supportive workplace environments. It covers legislation and organisational duty of care, which helps employers address the new legislation coming into effect in October 2024 which changes the duty on employers regarding sexual harassment from redress to prevention.*

Duration: 2 hours

This course is suitable for up to 20 people for an in-person session, or up to 15 people for an online session.

We recommend this course is followed by Crossing the Line 2.


Crossing the Line 2: Sexual violence and harassment active bystander training

*The prerequisite for this course is completing Crossing The Line 1 or having undertaken similar introductory sexual harassment training before. 

Overview 

This course enables organisations to continue to strive to support the creation of a respectful, inclusive and safe workplace community with zero-tolerance of sexual violence and harassment. 

Attending this session will equip you with tools to become more confident in challenging harassment and inappropriate and harmful sexual behaviours including but not limited to inappropriate banter, crossing of boundaries, and physical assault, that you may witness, or be made aware of, in the workplace. Learn how to be an effective active bystander and understand the importance of collective responsibility to a supportive and respectful workplace culture.

*From October 2024 there is a new duty on employers to take ‘reasonable steps’ to prevent sexual harassment. The Worker Protection Act (amendment of Equality Act 2010) came into force in October 2024 and will change the duty on employers from redress to prevention.
