(they/them)

Tim is the Voice and Representation Co-ordinator for The Diversity Trust.

In this role, Tim leads on the enhancement and development of our LGBTQ+ Equality Networks and partnerships across areas including Bath & North East Somerset, Somerset, and South Gloucestershire, and supporting the facilitation and delivery of steering groups and events in the area. This role was created in support of our LGBTQ+ Voice and Influence project, kindly supported by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Having previously worked in the world of local media in their hometown of Portsmouth and across Hampshire for nearly eight years, the pandemic gave Tim the opportunity to seek out a new career and wanted to embark on doing something which would benefit other people’s lives. This is where their work in inequalities began as a project worker at Stand Against Racism & Inequality (SARI) later progressing into a team leader position. As part of this role, Tim delivered LGBTQIA+ awareness training to a range of different organisations and schools. They also hold expertise in copywriting, editing, organising and facilitating small and large events.

Tim has experience working across private and public sectors, including working with National and Local Government, Education, Media, Youth Work, and Voluntary, Community & Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector, including grassroots work.

As a non-binary person, a big passion for Tim has always been amplifying voices of people who identify as LGBTQIA+. In their personal life, Tim is involved in a lot of local activism and projects helping raise funds for LGBTQIA+ run organisations or causes.

Tim comes into the role of LGBTQ+ Voice and Representation coordinator with a drive to see society doing better for LGBTQIA+ people and wants to be able to provide the tools and resources to help people thrive in their communities.
